UT Dallas announces it will host an international cricket tournament

The University of Texas at Dallas intends to share a popular sport around the world with North Texas.

UTD announced that it will team up with the National Cricket League USA. It'll host a massive tournament called the "Sixty Strikes Tournament" in October. This event would bring in six teams from all over the planet.

Even Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said in a statement that Texas is proud to host such an international event. UTD started making enhancements to its facilities to prep for the event. This includes things like adding bleachers, upgrading its cricket field and installing more lights.
