Trustees will hear from Mayor Maddie Parker at a Fort Worth ISD school board meeting on Tuesday evening about urgent concerns regarding student academic performance.

A recent report reveals that just one in three Fort Worth students in grades 3 through 8 are reading at grade level, with a noticeable decline over the past two years. The report, which examines state test scores from Fort Worth ISD, other local school districts, and public charter schools, shows that only 35% of students meet grade-level standards.

This represents a slight drop from last year and a three-point decrease in reading proficiency over the last two years. Mayor Parker, joined by business and civic leaders, will urge the board to take action to address these educational challenges and improve student outcomes.

stop the STARR test and go back to teaching real studies instead of just teaching the test.

Texas being 41st in overall education, I'd say meetings are in order..
