Dallas police release dashcam footage from Thursday's deadly shooting

Dallas police released dashcam footage showing officers fatally shooting a man who authorities say killed an officer and wounded two others.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia confirmed that Ofc. Darron Burks was executed by the suspect, identified as Corey Cobb-Bey. Authorities said Cobb-Bey also injured two other officers, including one who was shot in the face.

Following the shooting, Cobb-Bey led police on a high-speed chase before stopping his vehicle at the intersection of Interstate 35E and Highway 121 in Lewisville.

The dashcam video captures the ensuing confrontation, which led to officers opening fire and killing Cobb-Bey. Deputy Chief William Griffith reported that weapons, including a 9mm handgun, were recovered from multiple locations, including South Oak Cliff, where Burks was killed.

Burks’ funeral is scheduled for Saturday at Watermark Church.
