Fort Worth police reported that an off-duty officer was involved in a shooting incident following a hit-and-run on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after 4 p.m.

According to the police, the off-duty officer called 911, stating that he began following a red truck that had hit him near I-35W and Morningside Drive before driving away. During the call, the officer informed dispatch that the truck, a Ford F-150, attempted to ram his vehicle, prompting him to fire gunshots.

The vehicles eventually stopped on the southbound service road of I-35W at Bellvue Drive. Responding officers found the truck’s driver had been shot multiple times. The driver, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fort Worth police have not disclosed whether the suspect had a weapon, only stating that the officer “discharged a firearm.” The identities of both the officer and the suspect remain undisclosed, and it is unclear whether the officer will face any charges.

Off duty... you did right by called the cops on duty, should've just kept him in your sight until apprehended but instead you tried to kill him. Yes he was wrong but so are you off duty officer.

Don't be a worthless crook, and your odds of getting shot are much slimmer.
