There are a couple more chances for showers and a rumble of thunder Thursday and Friday and then things dry out and cool off into the weekend. A slow warm-up is expected into next week with a dry weather pattern shaping up.

Thursday began with temperatures in the low to mid-70s and some clouds overhead, but they are not precipitating. Scattered showers and isolated storms will form into the early evening hours this afternoon. They will be less numerous than the past couple of days. Afternoon highs will top out in the mid to upper 80s.

Friday is the warmest day over the next week, with afternoon highs in the low 90s. There is a chance for some scattered showers and isolated storms, a broken line, to form along a decent cold front as it moves to the area around dinnertime.

Cooler, drier air will filter into all of North Texas on Friday evening. Saturday morning temperatures will be in the 60s. There may even be some upper 50s along the Red River Valley.

Very dry air will continue to filter into the area this weekend. A north wind will blow at 15-25 mph on Saturday. Afternoon highs will only reach the low to mid 80s and the sun will be out.

Morning lows on Sunday and Monday will range between 58 and 63 degrees across all of North Texas. Plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs in the mid-80s on Sunday, and upper 80s on Monday.

A slow warm-up is expected Tuesday and Wednesday with morning lows in the 60s and afternoon highs approaching 90 degrees. No rain is in the forecast all of next week with seasonal temperatures.
