DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Dallas police shared more details about the death of a 14-year-old killed walking to school Friday morning.

Police say they have made an arrest in the accident that happened at the intersection of South Marsalis Avenue and East Ledbetter Drive.  We now know the driver and the passenger, 47-year-old James Grant, actually got into an argument as they were heading on Marsalis.

Police say as they got closer to Ledbetter, Grant reached across the driver causing her car to go off the road and hit the teen who was walking in the grass.

Police say Grant then stole something from the driver and ran off.
The driver called 911. Police later caught up with Grant and arrested him for felony murder saying he was in the act of committing a felony offense and that caused the death of the teen.

The Dallas School District tells KRLD the victim was a student at Boude Storey Middle School and they had teams at the school to provide Mental Health support.

I'm just finding out this kid was a Nabor kid, I remember seeing him walking to school on some days and would say good morning, I'm truly saddened.
