The fall-like temperatures will last a couple more days before things warm up toward the end of the week in North Texas. There is also a hurricane brewing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Temperatures at DFW Airport only reached 81 on Sunday, that's 10 degrees below average. Monday morning, most of the area dipped into the 50s, a good 10-15 degrees below average for this time of the year. Unfortunately, summer is still here and warming temperatures are on the way.

Monday and Tuesday will continue to be beautiful. Afternoon highs on Monday will reach the mid-80s — upper 80s on Tuesday. There will be an increase in humidity by Wednesday, as a system in the Gulf of Mexico starts to intensify and heads towards the Louisiana coast by late Wednesday.

As of 4 a.m. Monday, the system in the Gulf of Mexico had not been named because Air Force reconnaissance aircraft could not find the center of circulation. That will most likely change over the next 24 hours. Hurricane hunters have reported 50 mph wind on the west side of the convection. An increase in wind speed and a named storm will occur later Monday. It's name will be Francine.

The storm will continue to increase in strength before making landfall somewhere along the Louisiana coastline by late Wednesday. Forecast wind speed could be as high as 80 mph, but it's not out of the question that the wind speed might be a little bit higher as it moves ashore south of Baton Rouge. It will continue to weaken as it moves inland up the Mississippi River through the end of the week.

The weather in North Texas will be quiet Thursday through Sunday with high clouds streaming by. Temperatures will be near 90 degrees Thursday and Friday, and low to mid-90s Into the weekend.
