The first-ever private spacewalk is set to take place early Thursday morning (Sept. 12), and you can watch this historic event live.

Jared Isaacman and Sarah Gillis, two members of the four-person Polaris Dawn mission, will conduct this pioneering extravehicular activity (EVA). The mission launched into Earth orbit atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket early Tuesday morning (Sept. 10).

The spacewalk is scheduled to begin at 5:58 a.m. EDT, according to SpaceX. You can watch it live on Space.com or directly through SpaceX's channels, with coverage starting around 4:58 a.m. EDT.

The entire spacewalk is expected to last about two hours, from the initial venting of the Crew Dragon capsule to its repressurization.
