Over the next seven days, there will be a pretty benign forecast with above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation. Fall officially starts on Sunday, but it won't feel like it.

Monday morning began with temperatures in the upper 60s to mid-70s with nothing showing up on the radar. That will be the case for the next 6 six mornings. Afternoon highs will reach the low 90s on Monday and Tuesday with plenty of sunshine and a light wind.

An upper-level ridge of high pressure across the desert southwest will nose its way into the state Wednesday through Saturday increasing our temperatures and keeping the rain chances at bay. Afternoon highs each day will reach the mid-90s, and a little hotter than that off to the west of DFW.

By this weekend, the next weather system will work its way into the Rockies. The system will bring some rain to the Panhandle, the northwest Red River Valley, and parts of the northern Big Country. It's still too early to tell if this front will arrive in North Texas by Sunday.
