Two earthquakes were reported north of Midland Monday night. The quakes were both centered within a mile of each other about 30 miles north of the city.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the first quake hit at 7:49 p.m. The quake was initially rated 5.1 on the Richter scale but later revised to 4.8.

No major damage or injuries were reported, but people across Texas said they felt it.

On X, one person from San Marcos, south of Austin, wrote, "Our house was shaking all the way in San Marcos….."

A woman in Dallas posted a video saying, "I'm from L.A., and I know an earthquake when I feel one. That felt like an earthquake. It may have been a small one, but the way things are rattling up in here, that was an earthquake."

Both cities are about 330 miles from Midland.

At 12:46, a second earthquake was reported less than a mile from the first one. That quake measured 2.9.
