Stagnant weather pattern, poor air quality continue in North Texas

Cool mornings and warm afternoons remain the weather story over the next 7-10 days, with no rain for the foreseeable future.

North Texas is in a stagnant weather pattern with a bubble of high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere dominating the weather. No clouds equals no rain. Sinking air equals compression, which equals heating. Eventually, this pattern will change and we'll start to see a series of cold fronts come through the area, most likely the last 10 days of the month.

Poor air quality and plenty of sunshine on Friday with afternoon highs reaching the low 90s again. Rinse and repeat this forecast all the way through the weekend. Morning lows will dip between 65-72 degrees.

A weak cold front will move through the area Monday morning dropping temperatures to near 90 during the day. No rain will accompany this front. Temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday will drop a couple of degrees with highs in the upper 80s with ample sunshine. We will approach 90 degrees again by next Thursday.
