It's dry and getting drier with no rain in October and no rain in sight. The Texas Drought Monitor is out.

The worst drought in Texas right now is in the Pecos region, near the Big Bend. Parts of 5 counties have it worst with exceptional drought. That's Hudspeth, Culberson, Jeff Davis, Presidio, and Brewster Counties.

Some areas in central Texas, the Valley, and the Panhandle don't have any drought right now. It also shows how dry conditions are in North Texas. In the immediate DFW area, Tarrant County is seeing the lowest level, what's called, "abnormally dry".

Dallas, Collin, and Denton Counties are all listed in the next highest category, "moderate drought".
