Warm, dry October continues for North Texas

The weather stories to begin the week in North Texas include warming temperatures, a lack of rainfall, a grass fire danger, and a weak cold front on Friday.

Monday morning began with temperatures in the 50s under a clear sky. Things will quickly warm up into the low 80s. Humidity will remain low, and a south wind will blow from 10-15 mph creating another high grass fire danger, especially west of Interstate 35W.

It will be clear and comfortable Monday night with morning lows ranging from 58-63. It will be sunny and warmer on Tuesday with highs in the mid 80s.

The warming trend will continue Wednesday through Friday. There will be plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs reaching the upper 80s. Please keep in mind the average high has dropped to 77 degrees, and by the end of the month, it will hover at 72.

A weak cold front will back into the area on Friday bringing a very slight chance of a shower with it. Temperatures this weekend will be slightly cooler with afternoon highs in the low 80s, and morning lows back in the 50s with lowering humidity.
