NFL players vote Christian McCaffrey above Patrick Mahomes on NFL Top 100 list

( KRON ) — The Kansas City Chiefs may have gotten the best of the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, but Niners star running back Christian McCaffrey was ranked higher than Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the latest NFL Top 100 list, which is voted on by NFL players.

The top 10 players were released on Friday. Despite leading his team to Super Bowl titles the last two seasons, Mahomes was ranked No. 4. McCaffrey, the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, was No. 3. MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens was No. 2, and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was the top-ranked player. Mahomes beat all three players ranked ahead of him in last year’s postseason.

Both the Chiefs and 49ers were well-represented on the list. Two of Mahomes’ teammates (Chris Jones and Travis Kelce) landed in the top 10, while four 49ers were in the top 15.

Nine 49ers made the list. Take a look at each Top 100 49er below:

• Running back Christian McCaffrey (No. 3)
• Left tackle Trent Williams (No. 7)
• Linebacker Fred Warner (No. 11)
• Tight end George Kittle (No. 14)
• Defensive end Nick Bosa (No. 27)
• Quarterback Brock Purdy (No. 28)
• Wide receiver Deebo Samuel (No. 30)
• Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (No. 66)
• Linebacker Dre Greenlaw (No. 76)

To put that in perspective, two NFL teams (New England Patriots and Carolina Panthers) did not have a single player place on the list.

There will be a Super Bowl rematch on Oct. 20 when the Chiefs come to Levi’s Stadium.
