    VIDEO: Mountain lion spotted roaming downtown Vacaville on home surveillance

    (KRON) — A mountain lion caught on home surveillance video in downtown Vacaville has left residents on edge and prompted a safety alert from police.

    The sighting on Aug. 17 at 1:50 a.m., was captured by a camera near West Street and Cernon Street, close to Main Street, said the Vacaville Police Department.

    In the above footage, you can see the animal briefly roaming a parking lot before disappearing from view.

    VPD advises that if you encounter a mountain lion, you should avoid running, pick up small children, and create noise while allowing the animal to have an open exit.
