( KRON ) — A man is in critical condition after a shooting in Fairfield Tuesday morning, according to the Fairfield Police Department. The alleged gunman was arrested after a SWAT team surrounded a trailer on the property.

Police officers responded to the 300 block of State Street after a report of a man being shot. The reports stated that the shooter was still in the area, Fairfield PD said.

All charges dropped against third defendant in killing of Oakland PD officer Tuan Le

The injured man was located by the Fairfield Fire Department before being transported to a local hospital. The man is in critical condition, but is “expected to live,” FPD said.

The suspect in the shooting, identified as 36-year-old Kristopher Johnson, was seen by California Highway Patrol Air Operations entering a trailer that was parked on the property. Fairfield’s SWAT team was deployed and surrounded the trailer.

Johnson exited the trailer when commanded and was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

Fairfield police detectives later arrived to take over the case, according to FPD.
