    Suspected thief bites, pushes cart into store manager in Colma

    (KRON) – A suspected thief assaulted a store manager after stealing less than $20 worth of merchandise last month, according to the Colma Police Department.

    At 12:09 p.m. on Aug. 21, Colma police officers were notified of a woman stealing items from a store in the 700 block of Serramonte Boulevard. Responding officers said they were informed that the female suspect pushed a shopping cart at the manager and then bit the manager’s arm. The suspect fled on foot.

    The officers detained a woman matching the description of the suspect. The store manager identified her and she was subsequently arrested.

    Authorities said the suspect stole $15.17 worth of merchandise.

    The suspect was identified as 58-year-old Jerlene Oliver. Colma PD said Oliver is an unhoused individual.

    Oliver was arrested and booked into the  San Mateo County Jail for suspicion of robbery.
