Car company recalls thousands of vehicles over detaching car part

(KRON) – Toyota has recalled over 40,000 vehicles, according to its website.

The car company is recalling Sequoia SUVs model year 2023-2024. According to Toyota, approximately 43,400 vehicles in the United States are impacted by the recall.

The recall is due to the resin tow hitch cover, which can separate from the rear bumper of the vehicle while driving. Toyota said this malfunction has the potential to increase the risk of a crash.

Sequoia owners can take their SUVs to Toyota dealers to replace the resin tow hitch cover. The company says the free exchange will be an “improved” car piece.
