( KRON ) — Two suspects in a July shooting that injured two men at an “unsanctioned car show” in San Jose were arrested last week, police announced Wednesday.

According to San Jose Police Department investigators, two groups at the car show in the area of Monterey Road and Southside Drive began fighting. A man unrelated to the fight then approached the two groups and fired a handgun into the air, SJPD said. The suspect then pointed the gun at one of the victims and shot at him.

One of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries and the other had non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Detectives with San Jose PD’s Assault Unit identified the shooting suspect as Damian Flores, 26, of Union City, and a secondary suspect as Nicholas Perez, 27, of Fremont.

On Aug. 28, police located and arrested Flores in San Jose. Perez was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for attempted murder. Perez was arrested in Campbell and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail as an accessory to attempted murder.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Detective Lucas Gaarde at 4560@sanjoseca.gov or (408)-277-4161.
