(KRON) — Tips from community members helped police rescue four women from residential brothels in San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Last week, officers with SJPD’s Human Trafficking Task Force searched three homes that were suspected of operating brothels. The homes were located on Palacio Royal Circle, Bonita Avenue, and Gifford Avenue.

“During the execution of the search warrants, four adult female human trafficking survivors were located and provided resources,” the police department wrote.

Three men were arrested for allegedly operating the brothels. SJPD identified the trio as: Naisong Tong, 34, Guihua Tao, 60, and Zhiqiang Liu, 53.

Tong, Tao, and Liu were all booked into jail on human trafficking charges.

SJPD said its 2-month-long investigation into the brothels was assisted by several agencies, including the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit. “The San Jose Police Department remains committed to eradicating human trafficking in our community and encourages anyone with information about such activities to contact the Human Trafficking Task Force at 408-537-1999,” the police department wrote.
