SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — A woman who police say was involved in an organized retail crime incident was arrested last month in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood. According to the San Francisco Police Department, on Friday, Aug. 9, at approximately 4:24 p.m., SFPD burglary unit officers were notified of an organized retail crime incident at a store on the 2000 block of Fillmore Street.

Responding investigators were told that two suspects exited a vehicle, approached the store and stole merchandise valued at over $3,400. They fled the scene in the same vehicle.

The store’s security guard, police said, observed the license plate and provided information to police. Investigators placed a felony warrant on the vehicle.

The following day, at around 6:14 p.m., SFPD Bayview Station officers got an email notification after the vehicle drove past a Flock camera. The vehicle was connected to the theft and the camera captured the vehicle in the area of Evans Avenue heading toward Third Street.

The vehicle was located in the area of Rosie Lee Lane and Espanola Street, police said. There was one person in it at the time. Officers conducted a felony traffic stop and the suspect was detained without incident, police said.

Probable cause was developed to arrest the suspect, 31-year-old Johnetta Dixon. She was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the following charges:

    • Person who acts in concert with one or more persons to steal merchandise from one or more merchant premises
    • Grand theft
    • Burglary
    • Falsely personates another
    • Giving false ID to police officers

Although an arrest has been made, police say the investigation remains open and active.
