    Fire in West Portal contained with no injuries

    SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — Firefighters in San Francisco contained a one-alarm structure fire in the city’s West Portal district Thursday afternoon. The blaze was reported on the 100 block of West Portal Avenue, according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

    As of around 1:16 p.m., SFFD said crews were making progress on the fire, which was burning in a two-story structure. Fire officials said there were no reports of any injuries. The fire affected two structures and five businesses at 157 through 163 West Portal.

    The fire was ultimately contained with no injuries and no displacements, according to SFFD. Business owners are being provided with city services information for recovery, officials said. Occupants were assisted out of the building.

    A total of 40 firefighters and 15 fire apparatus were dispatched to contain the fire, which was under control by 2:04 p.m.
