(KRON) – The Hayward Police Department has arrested Shawn Moayer in the city’s tenth homicide of the year which occurred on Aug. 26.

On the day of 36-year-old Hayward resident Matthew Beck’s death, police responded to the 22000 block of Santa Clara Street for a report of a shooting at 3:25 p.m. Beck was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene

Hayward detectives identified 34-year-old Hayward resident Moayer as the suspect. According to police, officers believed Moayer’s adoptive father, Houman Moayer, knowingly harbored Shawn in an effort to hide him from law enforcement.
