Woman found dead in Berkeley Marina

(KRON) — A woman’s lifeless body was found floating in the water at Berkeley Marina on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

A witness first spotted the body at 1:38 p.m. near boats docked within the marina. Emergency responders pulled the victim out of the water and alerted the Alameda County coroner.

“The Alameda County Coroner’s Office is now responding to take custody of the deceased,” Berkeley Police Department Officer Byron White told KRON4.

Her identity is unknown. An autopsy will be performed to determine the woman’s cause of death.
