Overturned big rig shuts down WB Hwy 24 at Caldecott Tunnel

( KRON ) — An injury crash involving an overturned big rig is blocking all lanes of traffic on westbound Highway 24 in Oakland west of the Caldecott Tunnel on Wednesday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported just before 5 a.m. Traffic from westbound Highway 24 is being diverted to northbound Highway 13.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the area. There is no estimated time to reopen the lanes of Highway 24.

Details on the extent of injuries were not immediately available.
