( KRON ) –  Four individuals in Concord were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Friday, according to the Concord Police Department.

Concord PD is informing the public that driving under the influence is more than driving drunk. This can include some prescription medications or over-the-counter drugs, which may interfere with driving.

The department suggests reading warning labels on all drugs to ensure the driver can “operate heavy machinery” when taking the medicine.

Driving under the influence is not only dangerous but can also be pricey. Drivers who are charged with a DUI have an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties. The individual will also have a suspended license, according to the department.

Concord PD said officers will be holding multiple DUI checkpoints to “keep the roads safe.”

Unconstitutional and illegal stop to check everyone driving down one road. As I learned.. you need probable cause to stop anyone and these checkpoints are not legal at all. Next they will go to your house and start checking to see if you are sober or have license to drive 🤔🤡
