(KRON) — The Redwood City Police Department said its officers arrested a suspect who made off with $7,500 in merchandise in a smash-and-grab burglary at a thrift store.

Bay Area city among ‘rudest’ in America, according to a 2024 survey

RCPD said officers responded at 5:48 a.m. Thursday to Savers, located at 875 Main Street, for the report of a burglary. Police said “sometime during the night,” a suspect had smashed and entered a window to the business.

Officers said Robert Muller, 51, of Redwood City, was captured on video surveillance and identified, although he tried to disguise his appearance.

Police said Muller was found Friday in a “nearby encampment,” wearing some of the stolen clothing and that additional stolen merchandise was recovered.

Muller faces charges of burglary, possession of stolen property and vandalism.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Redwood City Police Department’s non-emergency number at (650)780-7100.
