    Suspect in Fremont fatal shooting arrested: police

    ( KRON ) – A suspect has been arrested in the shooting in the 40400 block of Grimmer Boulevard on Thursday, according to the Fremont Police Department.

    The fatal shooting occurred around 4:40 p.m. Fremont police located a man suffering from gunshot wounds on the sidewalk. Despite aid being rendered, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Fremont police identified 47-year-old Fremont resident Abbasin Hoshmand. Police said they were actively pursuing investigative leads to find Hoshmand.

    Early Friday morning, the Pleasanton Police Department informed Fremont PD that Hoshmand turned himself in to their department.

    Hoshmand was transported to the Fremont Police Department, where he was arrested with a murder charge.

    The Fremont Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit is now spearheading this investigation. Police said officers are finding the motivations for the homicide.
