    ‘Scorching hot’ temperatures in Autumn, excessive heat warning issued

    ( KRON ) – It may be Autumn, but the weather did not get that memo. An excessive heat warning is currently active until 11 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

    KRON4 meteorologist John Shrable said temperatures are set to be “scorching hot.” The NWS said these weather conditions are “dangerously hot.”

    Inland temperatures could reach up to 113 degrees, per the NWS. It will even be toasty in the coastal areas with temperatures up to 95 degrees. Downtown San Francisco is forecasted to reach up to 96. For the city of SF, the heat warning is set to end around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

    San Francisco Bay Area Forecast

    There is an excessive heat warning for multiple areas in the Bay Area: the City of San Francisco, San Jose, Livermore, Concord and parts of Santa Cruz, King City.

    Shrable said, “Sunshine and dry skies continue along with this heat through tomorrow which will be just as hot.”

    Overnight temperatures will be warm as well, with weather in the lower 70s to lower 80s.

    The weather service suggests residents limit outdoor activities, remain hydrated and take cooling breaks.
