(KRON) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) said two men have been arrested for allegedly nabbing power tools from the Sonoma County Regional Parks after the suspects were seen loading a stolen jackhammer into a getaway vehicle.

SCSO said deputies were dispatched Sunday, Sept. 29 to the 200 block of De Chene Avenue for a report of a burglary. Deputies said they discovered that sometime overnight, an unknown suspect had “forced upon a Conex box” belonging to Sonoma County Regional Parks and lifted “several tools.” Officials said the person who reported the incident was able to provide deputies with a list of the items that were missing, including a Dewalt jackhammer and other Dewalt-branded tools.

Investigators said two suspects, identified as Bryan Gomez Miranda, 27, and Aaron Vegas, 28, both of Sonoma, were seen loading the same missing jackhammer into a pickup truck. Soon after, deputies were able to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle and discovered the power tool in the trunk bed.

A search warrant conducted at a suspect’s house recovered many of the stolen items, which were returned to the Sonoma County Regional Parks, confirmed the SCSO.

Both suspects face charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy.
