Officials did not say how many residents were evacuated. A roughly two-inch gas line was ruptured in the Walnut Creek neighborhood, the fire department said.

KRON4 was at the scene. As of 10 p.m., the scene has been cleared, and one PG&E truck remained in the area. The smell of gas was still apparent in the area.

Video from the Citizen App (above) shows several residents gathered outside after being temporarily evacuated.
