(KRON) — The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) said 100 attendees were watching cars perform donuts and block traffic when officers responded to several reports of a sideshow at Tennessee and Sacramento streets on Oct. 6 at 11:39 p.m.

‘Extremely unsanitary’ unlicensed Gilroy dentist arrested, police say

VPD said the California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Air Unit flew over the scene and spotted a sideshow participant placing a stolen street sign inside a stolen 2016 Hyundai Elantra and leaving the scene.

A pursuit of the suspect’s vehicle, by VPD assisted by CHP, led to Oakland, said investigators. When the car became disabled, all five occupants tried to flee, said Vallejo police.

Three of the five suspects were arrested some time later, and taken to Solano County Jail for multiple felony charges.

Police said officers searched the vehicle and found another stolen street sign.

Investigators said a records check determined that the suspects and the stolen vehicle were all from Sacramento.

Police said the vehicle was towed, and its owner was made aware of the recovery.
