SJPD units were investigating an ongoing investigation of illegal narcotics sales operating out of an illegal gambling den in the 1400 block of Meadow Glen Way in San Jose. Further investigations led police to identify Glenn Jingco and Sophana El as primary suspects behind the den’s operations.

Officers obtained and served a search warrant at the Meadow Glen Way residence on Oct 3. METRO units, with the help of SJPD’s MERGE units, recovered the following:

    • Loaded privately manufactured firearm with no identifiable serial number
    • Short-barreled shotgun
    • Multiple forms of ammunition
    • Methamphetamine (unspecified amount)
    • U.S. currency with “various” denominations
    • Approximately seven large illegal gambling machines
    • “Other various drug paraphernalia”

Jingco and El were prohibited from possessing guns “due to prior convictions,” SJPD said. Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail for “operating an illegal gambling and narcotics establishment,” according to police.
