    San Jose driver used plastic skeleton as passenger for HOV lane

    ( KRON ) – A driver was caught using a plastic skeleton as a passenger to ride in the high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane, the California Highway Patrol shared on its Facebook.

    CHP noticed the sedan in San Jose. The plastic skeleton was topped with a ghost face mask to mimic a human head.

    CHP said on its social media, “It’s important to remember that decorations being transported in the passenger seat do not qualify to meet carpool requirements.”

    According to Caltrans, an HOV lane violation ticket is a minimum $490 fine and may increase for repeat offenders.
