Arrests made in 2023 San Leandro skate park fatal shooting

(KRON) — The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) said two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting last year at a skate park near a youth center.

ACSO said the case started on June 15, 2023 at 9:05 p.m. when sheriff officials arrived at the scene of a possible shooting at the skate park next to the REACH Ashland Youth Center, located at 16313 E. 14th Street in Unincorporated San Leandro. Investigators located the victim, 23-year-old Darrion Johnson, who died at the scene from a gunshot wound.

On Oct. 16 at 6:50 p.m., the Crimes Against Persons Unit (CAP) was alerted by the Bay Area Rapid Transit Police Department (BART) that it had arrested two individuals, identified as Devin Stevenson and Ebony Cook, on warrants issued by the ACSO, said authorities.

Stevenson was arrested for a murder warrant and Cook’s arrest warrant was for accessory after the fact, confirmed ACSO.
