ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico Health authorities shared some alarming results from surprise visits conducted at several long-term care facilities. Elderly residents shared concerns through a survey about staff shortages, unappetizing food, hygiene concerns, and lack of physical activities.

In one case, staff at a senior care facility lost track of an elderly resident during a surprise visit from the state. So what’s being done about it? Department of Health Secretary Patrick Allen joins Gabby to discuss how the survey worked, and what the state is doing with the results.

“Long gone are the days where we’re not paying attention because it’s COVID,” Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham said during a press conference announcing results of the surprise survey.

“Long gone are the days where we’re looking in the window,” she added. “We’re coming in and we expect the conditions to be a hell of a lot better than they are today in New Mexico.”

Am dealing with staff where My Brother is at their always loosing his glasses… and I could write a Novel of all the Stupidity that I see in the House……. Not going to name the place…. But he’s under freedom of speech…. And anymore I don’t know what to say or do because everywhere is the same….. Once I find a placement for My brother Maybe it’ll be better than where he’s at now…… Am Never told when he needs supplies….. I don’t visit much because it breaks My Brother’s chemistry with his staff if am always around…… But I’ve noticed that when I do go he’s always pissed off for some reason….. because every time he sees Me he gets all happy and excited….. because Nobody Knows My Brother like Me… and the worst part is he has Down syndrome……. And a lot of People don’t know how to handle people with Down syndrome…….. Please Never Put any of your Family Members in Las Estancia nursing home in the South Valley…. I had him there and they screwed him up and put him in a Wheelchair
