Rio Rancho holds ‘Sunday is Funday’ event to bring locals together

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – Summer may be winding down, but Rio Rancho offered a “Sunday is Funday” event for kids and families to bring the city together.

The community gathered at Haynes Park for the 19th annual event, where this year’s theme was “community unity.”

Local businesses set up shop to offer residents a chance to keep their dollars local.

People could also take part in a family-style picnic, participate in various summer activities, and connect with their fellow community members.

The city said the proceeds from the event will benefit youth programs in Rio Rancho.
