According to court records, Munoz’ brother, Andi Parra, attacked a man with a gun at the Flying J truck stop on 98th St. near I-40 in Albuquerque on August 11, 2024, leading to a fight. While this was happening Munoz is accused of opening fire on two witnesses, hitting and killing innocent bystander Maikel Romero.

The state asked the court to hold Munoz through trial. Munoz was identified at the crime scene through a GPS monitor, which was ordered by the court as part of his release on a domestic violence case from July. Judge Cindy Leos granted the state’s request, holding Munoz behind bars. Parra is facing charges for battery and negligent use of a firearm. He is currently out on conditions of release while awaiting trial.
