ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new study found that the Sandia Science and Technology Park in southeast Albuquerque has had a major economic impact on the state. The report, by the Mid-Region Council of Governments, found that the businesses operating out of the park have paid $7.7 billion in wages across the surrounding five counties since the park was founded in 1988.

“The wages in the park are higher than average. They’re great technology jobs that are being created in the park,” said Senior Manager Mary Monson, Tech Partnerships & Business Development at Sandia National Laboratory.

Right now, more than 2,000 people from 42 different businesses are working at the park.
