New Mexico Ballet Company performing at the 100th burning of Zozobra

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – The New Mexico Ballet Company will be performing as the “gloomies” for the 100th anniversary of the burning of Zozobra.

The burning of Zozobra is staged each year by the Kiwanis Club of Santa Fe at Fort Marcy Park in Santa Fe. The tradition involves burning Zozobra and along with it, your negative emotions, negative thoughts and worries. Choreographer and dancer with NM Ballet Company Kira Petersen says they have some new and exciting things planned for this year, the 100th anniversary.
