( KRON ) — DoorDash recently rolled out a new set of updates that prevent users from filing inaccurate claims against its delivery drivers, otherwise known as Dashers.

According to DoorDash, despite “the vast majority of consumers” doing “the right thing,” users sometimes file a false report claiming their order was shorted or never delivered.

“There may be times when a consumer makes a report that turns out to be inaccurate or even more rarely makes a false report,” DoorDash said, claiming they already have safeguards in place to help protect Dashers from being wrongly accused.

As an additional safeguard, DoorDash is requiring customers to confirm they have received their order by showing a PIN confirmation.

DoorDash says PIN codes will be required in “certain situations” or “if the consumer frequently reports issues with their deliveries.”

Here’s how it works, according to DoorDash:

    1. A consumer will be shown a 4-digit PIN code in the app and have to share that code with the Dasher at the drop-off so they can receive the order.
    2. At the drop-off, the Dasher will enter the PIN code to ensure it matches. If the consumer cannot provide the PIN code, the Dasher will note the PIN was not provided.

PIN verifications aside, DoorDash also rolled out updates for a more streamlined in-app process to appeal account deactivations, as well as added faster response times to the appeals.

I've always received my orders and in good time. My issues were with the quality the restaurant sent my food. Don't accept dd orders if your too busy to do them well. Don't send old food or bad quality bc you weren't busy and are trying to pass off day old food or food that sat there all day. Sometimes I was shorted food and got a $2 credit. So I just stopped using them. We tip well too. Our orders were picked up right away. It was the restaurants who fell short. I'd never be brave enough to be munching down on food and still claim I didn't receive it.
