Animal Welfare of Albuquerque and Isotopes Club officials opened up the ballpark for dozens of pooches and their pet parents. The dogs made their way in before the game against the Reno Aces.

It’s a unique event that gives dogs and their owners the chance to enjoy the classic American pastime together!

The Berm Area of the Isotopes Field was set up to support the pups with watering stations and other creature comforts. Officials said they created the event because baseball games are typically a human-only experience.

“We like to spend time with our dogs because they are family, so we like to see them come out to the park with their families. We do also have a couple of adoptable dogs out here today representing Animal Welfare,” stated Community Engagement Coordinator Valerie Grief.

Owners had to register their dogs beforehand, and there was a $10 entry fee.
