BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) — Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said they seized drugs after arresting a wanted man days earlier.

On August 10, BCSO performed a traffic stop on a man identified as James Guest. He was wanted for trafficking controlled substances and having a firearm as a felon.

BCSO alleged Guest resisted arrest and tried to start the vehicle, but he was eventually arrested. He was arrested for resisting arrest, battery on a peace officer, and his existing warrants. The vehicle was impounded.

Four days later, after getting a search warrant, authorities found more than a pound of meth in the vehicle.

Starting years before this incident, Guest had been arrested 26 times in Bernalillo County for various crimes. Some include trafficking, driving while intoxicated, possessing a controlled substance, forgery, and burglary.
