SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – State prosecutors have dropped a murder charge against a man accused of a Santa Fe murder. Court documents show Santa Fe County prosecutors dismissed charges against Zachary Babitz related to the murder of 83-year-old Gordon Wilson at a Santa Fe Best Buy last month.

Those documents said prosecutors are working with federal officials on their case against Babitz which is also related to Wilson’s murder. Babitz was also facing charges related to a bank robbery in Albuquerque in July but those charges have also been dismissed for now. Babitz is also facing robbery charges in Las Cruces. Court records do not show if those charges have been dropped yet.

Prosecutors will be able to bring charges back at a later time if necessary. Babitz is facing federal carjacking and firearm charges.

Oh my God!!! So next let’s let him rape and murder a child. Maybe they’ll send him on a vacation to a beach resort where he can kill a whole family. Maybe then he’ll win the million dollar lottery!! This is a freaking insult to this man, to his family, and to us as a community!!!
