Meals on Wheels Albuquerque and Las Cruces affiliates collaborate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Meals on Wheels teams in Albuquerque and Las Cruces teamed up to provide medically tailored meals in southern New Mexico. This was made possible by the Meals on Wheels America’s collaboration grant.

Meals on Wheels is a home delivered meal program that prepares medically tailored meals to meet the needs of clients regardless of age or reason. Meals on Wheels Las Cruces previously did not offer meal service for clients in need of renal/dialysis friendly, diabetic or heart healthy diets. Meals on Wheels Albuquerque was able to prepare and provide these meals and Roadrunner Food Bank transported the meals to Las Cruces for distribution to clients in southern New Mexico.
