Pennsylvania man accused of attempted kidnapping in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – The Hobbs Police Department arrested 41-year-old Bunran Chhay after he was accused of attempting to kidnap a woman. Officers responded to Home Depot where witnesses said they heard a woman screaming for help. Witnesses confronted Chhay who fled the area.

Police said Chhay was found in a nearby hotel room and was detained. They said he followed the victim around the store and into the parking lot. They said he exposed himself during the altercation.

Chhay was charged with attempted kidnapping and indecent exposure. Anyone with information is asked to call dispatch at 575-397-9265 or Lea County Crime Stoppers at 575-393-8005.
