Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union to acquire Albuquerque’s Mountain America Credit Union locations

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union said its organization is getting bigger. The financial institute has reached an agreement to acquire the Mountain America Credit Union locations in Albuquerque.

“Like Mountain America Credit Union, we are a values-based organization that takes pride in putting our members first,” said Steph Sherrodd, SLFCU President and CEO in a news release. “This acquisition accelerates our goal to provide an experience that makes banking better for more individuals in New Mexico.”

The terms of the deal were not revealed, but Sandia will have 15 locations once the acquisition is complete. The deal still needs approval from the Mountain America Credit Union members.
