    [1] Jury deliberation underway in trial against former BCSO Deputy – Jury deliberations are underway in the trial against a former BCSO Deputy charged with pulling a gun on two men while off-duty. Prosecutors say Michael Borrecco purchased vodka from the Circle K on Osuna, drank in his vehicle, then pulled a gun on two men outside. The defense says Borrecco suspected criminal activity and was protecting the store clerk. KRQE will provide updates when a verdict is reached.

    [2] ABQ mom seeks justice for son killed at 2021 house party – The family of a teen killed at a party on Halloween night in 2021 is now upping the reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. 18-year-old Alejandro Villarreal was killed after a fight broke out at a South Valley house party. Investigators say witness interviews have not led to any arrests. Hoping more witnesses will come forward, Villarreal’s family has poured thousands in their own money to increase the Crime Stoppers reward to $9,000.

    [3] Moisture across the region later this weekend with a break from high temperatures – Mostly quiet conditions will continue in the short term in New Mexico, but Tropical Storm Ileana, located around the southern tip of Baja California this morning, will bring moisture across the region later this weekend with a break from the record-high temperatures. The tropical moisture from the south-southwest will bring in higher rain chances late this weekend into early next week with an eventual big drop in temperatures.

    [4] Four schools leave the Mountain West for PAC-12 – The Mountain West Conference will be looking different in 2026. San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State and Fresno State will be leaving the Mountain West and join the PAC-12 Conference. That will leave eight football teams and seven basketball teams in the Mountain West.

    [5] The Sundance Film Festival may get a new home – Santa Fe will not be hosting the Sundance Film Festival in 2027. The film institute narrowed down its search for the festival’s new home and Santa Fe did not make the cut. Despite not being chosen, the city says just being in the running has put a spotlight on the state as a unique contributor to the industry.
