The vehicle drove through a barbed wire fence, hit a cable box, and came to a stop off Highway 11 as it was stuck in loose dirt.

Officials claimed Castro was able to free the vehicle and drove towards an officer who was approaching. The officer fired their weapon. Castro reportedly surrendered and was arrested.

    No injuries were reported.

Castro was taken to the Luna County Detention Center for aggravated assault and aggravated fleeing. She was also wanted for failing to appear on a drug charge.
