[1] City councilor introducing social media accountability resolution – An Albuquerque city councilor is looking to create a policy to keep city officials accountable for social media posts. In a resolution, councilor Renee Grout says while city employees have a right to their own opinions, they should do so under their own name and not under the city’s. The resolution comes less than two weeks after city councilors called out the director of communications for APD for social media posts. The resolution calls for specific disciplinary actions to be defined if it’s broken.

[2] Charges dropped for Santa Fe man accused of shooting man with ‘pepper ball’ weapon – Charges have been dropped against a Santa Fe man accused of shooting a pepper ball weapon at a man rummaging through the trash near his restaurant. ‘Pranzo’ owner Steven Lemon told police that he shot at Ronald Price while Price was digging through a trash can in an alley next to the restaurant. According to court documents, police found Price near the alley with blood on his face. Lemon was previously facing aggravated assault and tampering with evidence charges. The District Attorney’s Office stated that the district attorney “personally reviewed the case” and stated that she did not see “probable cause for the crimes as charged.”

[3] More widespread rain coming as temperatures cool off – New Mexico can expect even heavier more widespread rainfall on Monday. Tuesday will be the last day this week for widespread rain as dry air moves its way back into New Mexico early Wednesday. This will significantly decrease rain chances to far east New Mexico. The rain will be spotty showers at best. Isolated storm chances will return to eastern and southeastern New Mexico on Friday.

[4] NMDOT plans meeting to talk about I-25 Gibson Interchange Reconstruction Project – The New Mexico Department of Transportation is giving residents a chance to provide input on the I-25 and Gibson interchange reconstruction project. Officials say the project will improve the freeway between Sunport Blvd. and Avenida Cesar Chavez. Officials are asking the public to provide feedback on an updated concept design and other elements. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Herman Sanchez Community Center.

[5] ABQ salon and Children’s Cancer Fund treat cancer patients to makeovers – Blo Blow Dry Bar invited 16 kids who have been diagnosed with cancer to get VIP treatment by doing their hair and makeup. The event was in collaboration with the Children’s Cancer Fund of New Mexico, helping children and families facing the disease with both emotional and financial support.
